Ashley Young is only moments away from living his dream of playing in the UEFA Champions League.
The ex-Aston Villa ace is expected to feature against FC Basel on Tuesday night. Commenting on this prospect, Ashley Young told the press as Manchester United’s official website reported:

“When you come to a club like Manchester United, you are going to be challenged,” Young said at the pre-match press conference.

“I am definitely someone who wants to challenge myself at the top level and being able to play in the big competitions at club level is every boy's dream.

“Hopefully I’ll be selected and can play a part in the game and I’m looking forward to playing in the Champions League.”

On match-day 1 of the UEFA Champions League, Manchester United snatched only a point from their fixture away to Benfica. The Red Devils surprisingly went behind during the game until veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs found the equalizer.

Manchester United fans are now hoping to witness a win on home soil tonight. For winger Ashley Young, there’s no point in losing confidence following last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Stoke City. He concluded:

“We know it is going to be a tough game, but I’m sure if we impose ourselves on the game as we have done in every other game this season we’ll get the three points.”

Ashley Young will have to cope with the absences of Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez as both players have been sideline through injury. Michael Owen and Federico Macheda are now poised to fill Manchester United’s attacking places against FC Basel.
