However, Saka and Co. stumbled, conceding twice in three minutes from the 84th minute onwards thanks to goals from Leon Bailey and in-form striker Ollie Watkins.

This leaves Arsenal two points behind Man City in second, handing a huge blow to their title hopes. As a result, Arteta's men must bounce back immediately or they will risk imploding at the business end of the season yet again.

Unfortunately, this was the Gunners' second disappointing result, with the 2-2 draw at home to Bayern Munich being the first. Despite boasting the home advantage, Arsenal needed a 76th-minute goal from Leandro Trossard to rescue a draw.

While the North London giants had a late penalty shout when Manuel Neuer appeared to trip Bukayo Saka inside his own box, the Premier League side were also fortunate not to concede a spot kick earlier on.
