Barcelona have updated football on Sergio Aguero's situation after the player was forced off before the club's 1-1 draw with Alaves on Saturday. The 33-year-old striker made his home start for the Catalans but left for the hospital in the course of the proceeding after suffering a 'chest discomfort'.
The former Manchester City forward was named in the starting lineup in a new-look Barca side under interim coach Sergi Barjuan following the sack of Ronald Koeman. Despite having had a few goalscoring opportunities, the attacker could not fire his side in front and subsequently had his night cut short for a bizzare injury. Inside the 40th minute, the player was seen laying down after being involved in an aerial tussle a few moments earlier.
After receiving medical attention, Aguero got back on his feet but was seen clutching his chest at some instances. He was immediately replaced by Philippe Coutinho. In his absence, Memphis Depay fired the Camp Nou outfit in front in the 49th minute but the goal was canceled by Luis Rioja just three minutes later.

Meanwhile, multiple reports from Spain have indicated that Aguero had difficulty breathing, with El Chiringuito reporting that the heart rate of the ex-City stalwart was much higher than it should have been. Barca's interim coach Sergi Barjuan, in his post-match remarks, also stated that Aguero had told him that he was feeling dizzy. He said: "He told me he was a little dizzy. I have found out now that they have taken him to the hospital to see what he really has. I do not know any more."
Barcelona have since confirmed that Sergio Aguero has been admitted to hospital for a cardiac exam on their official Twitter account.
