England and Brazil will lock horns at Wembley Stadium in a friendly tie on Saturday, March 23rd.

England will kick off 2024 with a bang as the Three Lions prepare to host South American giants Brazil at Wembley on Saturday. Gareth Southgate's men are fully in the midst of preparations for the upcoming EURO 2024 competition as they hope to end their long wait for a continental title. After bitter disappointment during EURO 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the pressure will be on England and Southgate to finally "bring it home" this summer.

Of note as England await Brazil is their impressive unbeaten record at Wembley, which now stands at 20 games. That's the second best run for the Three Lions at their home ground, only bettered by the 24 matches from 1984 to 1990. The last team to beat England at Wembley was Denmark, who earned a 1-0 win back in October 2020, but despite this solid run of form on home turf, there might be some trepidation as to whether the record will be still standing at the end of this upcoming game.

Meanwhile, Brazil come into this match having lost their last three games. The five-time World Cup winners were beaten by Uruguay, Colombia, and Argentina in World Cup qualifiers, and have not lost four in a row across all competitions in over two decades. However, Brazil have an excellent record against European sides in friendlies, with 10 wins from their last 11 matches. That being said, despite losing just four of their last 26 meetings with England, Brazil have not done well when it comes to playing the Three Lions at Wembley.

Indeed, the South American powerhouse have won just two of their last 12 trips to London, with the most recent of those wins taking place nearly 30 years ago in June 1995. Both teams are dealing with quite a few players out injured, meaning that each tactician will need to get a bit more creative with his respective starting XIs.

England: Kieran Trippier, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Jack Grealish, Luke Shaw, Kalvin Phillips and Ben White are all not available, while Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, Jordan Henderson, and Harry Kane all missed team training recently. Saka has since left the camp and it's not likely that either Kane, Henderson, or Palmer will be involved in this match.

Brazil: Meanwhile, Brazil also have been hit hard with injuries, with Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ederson, Marquinhos and Casemiro all having to leave the team camp, and the five-time World Cup winners will also be missing shot-stopper Alisson Becker due to a thigh injury.
