Tottenham Hotspur have successfully booked their first-ever final under manager Jose Mourinho following Tuesday night's Carabao Cup success against Brentford. The North London outfit secured a 2-0 victory inside their home stadium, with Moussa Sissoko and Heung-min Son getting the goals.
Following a rather frantic start, the biggest moment of the first half came inside the 12th minute as Sissoko rose to head home Sergio Reguilon cross into the Brentford net for the game's opener. Having failed to manage a response before the break, the visitors handed Spurs a scare by leveling the score through Ivan Torney on the 65th minute. However, the goal did not stand as it was subsequently cancelled and ruled as offside by VAR.

Five minutes later, Son doubled Tottenham's advantage by finishing off a brilliant counter attacking move, putting his side just a game away from their first trophy in 12 years. The game concluded with Brentford having 10 men on the field as Josh Dasilva was sent off for a horrible challenge on Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

For Jose Mourinho, the night's feat meant that he has now reached five League Cup finals and could become the most successful manager in the competition should he defeat either of Manchester United or Manchester City in the final. He is currently tied on four titles with Sir Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough.
The Portuguese manager will also be featuring in the 16th cup final of his career, with his record suggesting that he may potentially add yet another silverware to his collection. He has so far won 12 of the 15 finals he has featured in.
