The Spanish boss was rumored to be on his way to Italy, but the bianconeri boss shed light on the next step after Allegri's sacking.

It's not usual to see a team exec stepping up to dismiss rumors about their transfer business -or lack there of-. This time, Juventus' exec Fabio Paratici decided to do so in an interview with DAZN Italia.

Paratici slammed reports about a possible deal with Pep Guardiola, which made the rounds on social media last week. Simply put, Paratici referred to these claims as "fake news".

"I can understand things being a bit strange at the moment, but we have not gotten in touch with him (Guardiola). We haven't even thought about him (to take over as Juventus' boss), because he is under contract and for a variety of other reasons," Paratici said.

A report issued by an Italian press agency revealed that Guardiola would sign his contract with the bianconeri on June 4, adding that the coach would be unveiled on June 10. According to Paratici, that report came from the mind of a highly creative correspondant.

"It seems a bit odd, but this is our world. There's nothing we can do but to accept that fact," Paratici added.

Juventus is still looking for Massimiliano Allegri's replacement, two weeks after revealing that the four-time Serie A champion with the bianconeri would not return for the 2019-20 season. Maurizio Sarri and Jose Mourinho have been tipped as the two top candidates for the gig.
