Wenger gives brutal analysis of Barca after goalless draw vs Slavia Praha

Barcelona’s disappointing performance against Slavia Praha on Tuesday remains a hot topic, with Arsene Wenger being the latest famous name to weigh in with his thoughts on the Blaugrana’s performances.

The former Arsenal boss spoke on this matter as a pundit on beIN Sports, labeling the Spanish giants as a team in crisis after analyzing their display on Tuesday. Despite boasting the likes of Messi and Griezmann in their ranks, and being the home side, they were unable to break down their Czech opponents.

Valverde’s side, who were already under pressure after their rocky start to the campaign, came away with a goalless draw. The Catalan heavyweights still top their group but their lead was slashed to a single point after drawing blanks.

And Le Prof broke down what is going wrong at the club. The Frenchman argues that Barcelona have lost their strength as a team and simply wait for Messi to do his magic to win games.

"They’re top of the league, they’re top of their group, and they play like a team in crisis," Wenger told beIN Sports.

"Their game is too slow. There is no dynamic in the last 30 meters, it’s too individual.

"Every time they lose the ball, it looks like they will concede a goal on the counterattack because they cannot deal with pace against the opponent... the team lacks dynamic, lacks energy, lacks confidence.

"Today it looks like they play and they wait for Messi to do something, but the basic strengths of the team play is a bit gone.

"And you think, when will Messi get the ball to do something? And before, the music, the basic music, was the fantastic team play, making it difficult to catch the ball, and then on top of that came Messi."

Pressure continues to pile on Valverde due to Barcelona’s struggles. Pique, one of the club’s most vocal players, even appeared to take a jibe at their tactics, stating that they stand no chance of winning the title like this.
