The title-deciding match-up between Man City and Aston Villa lived up to expectations on Sunday afternoon with the former fighting tooth and nail to defending their Premier League crown. It was an epic finale, with Pep Guardiola's men completing a remarkable remontada, sparking wild celebrations at the Etihad thanks to Illkay Gundogan's second goal of the night.
The unforgettable afternoon started on the worst possible note for City who conceded the game's opener in the 37th minute. Matty Cash put Steven Gerrard's men ahead by getting on the end of Lucas Digne's ball and putting his header wide of Ederson after coming into the penalty area on the blindside of Cancelo. With barely 20 minutes of regulation time left to play, Philippe Coutinho doubled Villa's advantage, sending wild cheers across Anfield as his former club Liverpool were also looking to break the resilience of a stubborn Wolves side.
Little did they know that a comeback was on the horizon for Pep Guardiola's men. Substitutes Raheem Sterling and Illkay Gundogan combined to score City's first goal of the night in the 76th minute before Rodri bagged the equalizer two minutes later. In a space of minute minutes, Pep Guardiola's men had completed their comeback, with Gundogan netting his second of the night with a simple tap in. Watch:

The title won was City's fourth under Pep Guardiola in the last five years. The Spanish manager is now the manager with the most Premier League title wins after former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. The former has surpassed the tallies of both Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho.
