Professional women's soccer might be coming to Los Angeles in the near future as Mia Hamm hints that she has been working hard to make that dream come true.

The City of Los Angeles, home of some of North America's best professional clubs, academies, collegiate programs, players and fans. But there is only one thing missing in the City of Angels and that is a National Women's Soccer League franchise.

The NWSL has introduced three new teams – the Houston Dash in 2014, Orlando Pride in 2016 and Utah Royals FC in 2018 – since the inception of the league. With Proof Louisville FC set to arrive at the NWSL in 2021, women football fans in L.A. are still asking themselves the same question. Why doesn't Los Angeles have its NWSL team?

Well, LA FC part-owner Mia Hamm has a very special message for all of those interested in the answer to this question.

Despite not answering the question, the two-time Olympic Games and World Cup winner has given hope to those who have longed for an NWSL team in L.A. According to Hamm, she is in constant talks with other executives at LA F.C. over this idea and her message was indeed hopeful.

LA F.C. received immense support in its first two seasons in the MLS. On gameday, the Banc of California becomes an environment that not many other clubs in North America come close to replicating. LAFC's loyal supporter union, the 3252, have been seen flying banners and flags with the NWSL logo with lettering that reads "Bring NWSL to LA."

College women's soccer teams like UCLA and the University of Southern California have played at the Banc and it would be incredible to see women wearing LA F.C. uniforms playing there soon.
