The Portuguese manager caused a lot of agitation among the Manchester United fan base by benching the club’s record-signing in his side’s Champions League Round of 16 trip to Sevilla. However, what seemed like a hamstring injury to Ander Herrera forced Jose to quickly recall the 24-year-old midfielder from his mini-exile in the dugout.
The former Juventus player has undoubtedly been a shadow of the player he’s known to be in recent weeks and, as a result, was dropped to the bench. Fans who were advocating for the Pogba’s inclusion in the starting line-up have since come out in their numbers to troll Jose Mourinho for what some describe as a ‘tactical flaw’.
Here are some of the best tweets circulating on Twitter amid the frenzy:
looked like he was faking it. Like "nah pogba needs to play"

Mourinho is a strange one. Fair enough he's won two more champs lge medals than me but why leave Pogba on the bench? To 'teach him a lesson' only to then have to bring him on 15mins in. Why not just start him you absolute doyle

Pogba scoring, not celebrating, and Mourinho taking all the credit for motivating him would be a #narrative hat trick. #UCL #Sevilla #ManUtd
