The Ligue 1 title race could take an interesting turn with three of the top four contenders set for crucial tests on Sunday.

The French Ligue 1 could be set for a make-or-break moment on Sunday with both Lille and Paris Saint-Germain - the two top-ranked sides in the league - ready to feature in games that could significantly impact the current status of the table. Unlike seasons past where Les Parisiens enjoyed an unspirited monopoly to secure seven of the last eight trophies on offer, the script has been slightly tweaked this term. The likes of Lille, Olympique Lyon and AS Monaco are all in the mix with obvious intentions, laying down the blueprint for a title race which could well endure till the end of the season.

Needless to say, a unique opportunity could present itself on Sunday for Paris Saint-Germain to capitalize on although Lille will put up a fight to prevent it. Les Dogues will be hosted by third-placed AS Monaco, who themselves, are considered as outsiders for the league title. Any result but a win for either of the two sides will prove beneficial to Paris Saint-Germain with their clash with Nantes scheduled for a latter time in the day.

For Lille, a change in fortune and a consistent winning run would positively impact their charge, having picked up a few bad results in recent weeks. Christopher Galtier's men are unbeaten across their last 11 league games but have picked up a couple of draws that have more or less put them within the reach of title rivals Paris Saint-Germain. Against Monaco, a win will safeguard Les Dogues' status as league leaders for the time being but the opponent they face are tricky customers and will be well interesting in ruining the party for them.

Niko Kovac's side has somewhat overachieved with 10 league games left as they sit in third position - seven points away from the league leaders and two behind PSG. Indeed, the die has not yet been cast and as far as the race for the title is concerned, with Les Monégasques having an outsider's chance to potentially secure it. Their impressive form at the Stade Louis II that has seen them register just a defeat at the venue has been the bedrock of their success story this season and, with Lille coming to town, they could renew their charge to clinch the Ligue 1 title.

On the other end of the specturm, Paris Saint-Germain will look to build on their recent success in the Champions League against Barcelona by securing first place in Ligue 1 should the opportunity present itself on Sunday. Les Parisiens host relegation-threatened Nantes in search of their first win at Parc des Princes since the 2-0 defeat to Olympique Marseille. While they have not been overly impressive by blowing teams away, the run put together by Mauricio Pochettino's men has been enough to take them closer to the top spot.

Against Nantes, they will look to avoid defeat in whichever way possible although Les Canaris will aim at upsetting the bookies' prediction to their advantage. Antoine Kombouare's side are in 19th position and only have three points separating them and a safety spot.
