Given Manchester United's recent form, many fans believe Mohamed Salah to be licking his lips over the potential damage he could inflict upon the wounded Red Devils.
Not only have Erik ten Hag's men lost 3-0 at home to Bournemouth in their most recent Premier League outing, but the English giants also lost 1-0 at home to Bayern Munich on Tuesday to suffer a UEFA Champions League group-stage elimination.
And furthermore, if that was not enough reason for concern, the Egyptian sensation is also hunting an eye-catching Premier League. The North African ace, who scored three goals against Rashford and Co. last season and has made a habit of netting past the Red Devils, looks to become the league's outright top scorer against Manchester United.
The 31-year-old has an outrageous record against the 20-time English champions. Across all competitions, the former Chelsea attacker has crossed paths with Manchester United in 12 games and has scored 12 goals and assisted an additional four. This means he is averaging a goal per game against the Red Devils and over a goal contribution every 90 minutes.

Mo Salah's record against the old enemy is simply staggering

However, things get more interesting when looking at Premier League goals only. Salah has scored 10 times against Manchester United in the top flight since arriving at Anfield. This means he is level with Alan Shearer for most Premier League goals by one player against the English giants.
Since joining Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has scored more Premier League goals against Man Utd (10) than United have scored against Liverpool (8).

One more and he will break another record. #LIVMUN https://t.co/ldgZAQa2Al
One more from the Liverpool attacker and he will claim that record outright, and given how the last encounter between these two clubs fared, Salah should enter this tie with tremendous confidence.
The two teams last locked horns back in March and while many expected Ten Hag's side to give the Merseyside outfit a go, Klopp's side emerged victorious in emphatic fashion, thrashing the Red Devils 7-0. Salah scored twice on that day and will be looking to pull off something similar, if not better.
