What is the form of Barcelona compared to Slavia Praha?

Barcelona might be the favorites but the Blaugrana head into this clash on the back of an unacceptable 3-1 loss to Levante. That result has led to the return of the doubts surrounding Valverde and the club’s competitiveness under the Spaniard. However, it should be noted that the Catalan giants’ recent form had been excellent, with the weekend defeat being a stain to the seven-match winning streak Messi and Co. mustered.

Slavia Praha, meanwhile, have won their most recent game, enjoying a 4-0 thrashing of Banik Ostrava. However, the Czech Republic outfit have lost three times in their last seven games in all competitions, two of which came in this competition against Tuesday’s opponent and Dortmund.

These two sides have met only once before and that encounter was their clash on Matchday 3 of this season. The Blaugrana won 2-1, which means Barcelona triumphed in all of their last five matches against Czech Republic clubs. At home, the Catalan giants have won all but one of their six clashes with Czech teams, the sole exception being a 1-0 defeat to Sparta Praha back in the European Champion Clubs’ Cup 1985/86 campaign.

The biggest absentee is Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan suffered a calf injury in the weekend defeat to Levante, robbing Messi of his partner for this clash. Ousmane Dembele, however, should feature and this match should be a great opportunity for Griezmann to establish an understanding with Leo.

Arthur is absent from the squad. In his place, Arturo Vidal is expected to start. Jordi Alba is available after shaking off a recent knock. As for the away side, they remain without David Hovorka. However, Ibrahim Traore is expected to return on Tuesday and play his first Champions League game of this season.
