Two weeks before El Clásico arrives, Los Culés and Los Merengues will try to keep their unbeaten runs in La Liga this weekend.

The seventh week of action in La Liga will bring a couple of games that could keep fans on the edge of their seats, and to make things even more interesting, both of them will feature the two biggest clubs in Spain.

Barcelona and Real Madrid, the only teams in the Spanish top-flight who remain unbeaten after six games, will have some tough clashes this weekend to try and keep their flawless run in the competition. Los Culés may have it more complicated than their eternal rivals, since they will have to defend their winning run away from home, while Los Blancos will be welcoming their rivals this weekend.

The games will be a bit atypical for both Spanish giants, as the "FIFA Virus" has hit both of them quite hard. The Catalan side has been hit the hardest, as up to six players have been ruled out of this game due to injury. On the other hand, Los Merengues have to make do without Luka Modric, who has been confirmed as an injury absence. Added to the Croatian ace, Lucas Vázquez has been listed as doubtful.

Let's have a closer look at these games.

Mallorca vs Barcelona

The Blaugrana side will be facing one of the teams that has been marked as one of those who will be forced to battle relegation all year long, but the team led by Javier Aguirre may complicate things for Los Culés if they can keep up with their recent performances at home.

Xavi's team will have to face this match without six players, including Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, and Jules Koundé, who had been regulars for the Catalan side. The Uruguayan defender will even have to undergo surgery that will force him to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup with his country. These absences could hinder the team's chances of continuing with their unbeaten run, but their transfer activity last summer may have been sufficient to hire top-notch replacements that may keep them without a loss.

As for the home team, Mallorca will rely on the performances of players such as Vedat Muriqi and Lee Kang-In, who have carried the team's weight this season with three goals and three assists respectively. Additionally, Rodrigo Battaglia and Martin Valjent have proven to be quite reliable in defense for their Mexican boss, who has only been able to beat Barcelona in two of his previous 25 matches against Los Culés.

Real Madrid vs Osasuna

Los Merengues have won each and everyone of their games this season, and playing at home against Osasuna is seen by many as a chance to extend that run. Nevertheless, Los Rojillos have earned twelve points in the ongoing campaign, and the match could be one of the most interesting to be played before the FIFA World Cup break.

Real Madrid will have to play without Luka Modric, who picked up a complicated injury during the International break. But it will not be all bad news for Los Merengues, as they will welcome back Karim Benzema to their lineup. It will be interesting to see if Carlo Ancelotti decides to bench either Rodrygo or Fede Valverde in favor of the French striker.

On the other side of the pitch, Osasuna make it to the Bernabeu after losing their second game of the season against Getafe. To make matters worse, that game took place at their own stadium. For this game, coach Jagoba Arrasate will have to think of a different way to attack the league leaders, as striker Chimy Avila is suspended to play this game.
