The fate of the Ligue 1 title race could be decided depending on the outcomes of the upcoming fixtures featuring the competition's two high-ranking sides.

The Ligue 1 table still retains an unfamiliar look with just two games left of the season to play. The competition that has been massively dominated by Paris Saint-Germain in the last decade has offered thrills after thrills with Lille emerging as new customers to run away with the title as champions of France. A steady trajectory has seen Les Dogue well within range of dethroning the defending champions and four points from the remaining six on offer should be enough to secure their safe passage into the promised land.

While the aforementioned holds true, an alternative that will serve the same purpose will be for PSG to drop points against Stade Reim in another Sunday afternoon outing. In that case, Lille beating Saint-Etienne should be enough to give them the title. They will welcome Les Verts to the Stade Pierre Mauroy in the penultimate league game of the season with the desire to keep their winning run going.

Christophe Galtier's men are unbeaten in five games against the Stade Geoffroy Guichard outfit, winning four and drawing the remaining one game. In the grand scheme of things, they should also be guided to glory by the fact that they are unbeaten in their last six league appearances, winning five and drawing the remaining one game. On the contrary, the opponent they face has what it takes to deliver an upset. They currently sit in the 11th position with 45 points from 36 appearances.

So far, Saint-Etienne have won their two most recent games, beating Montepellier and Marseille during that period. Before that, they were without a win in two games. As to whether they can get the better of Lille remains to be seen with the league leaders poised to win the league title for the first time in 10 years.

But that is not to be used as a means to overlook the chances of Paris Saint-Germain. The French capital club, despite the topsy-turvy, are not relenting in their effort and only sit three points behind Lille. Having been eliminated from the Champions League, Mauricio Pochettino's men run the risk of missing out on the league title as well owning to the dominance displayed by rivals Lile.

PSG will go into the game with a five-game unbeaten run to their name. Just as they have been away from home, their home form is pretty solid as they have managed 37 points from 18 appearances and only rank second among the sides with the most points at home behind AS Monaco. Against Stade Reims, they will be eager to prove a point with another win although the former is still locked in a battle to avoid relegation.
