Fabio Capello slams CR7 over substitution rant in AC Milan win

Cristiano Ronaldo may have been quite successful during his first year with Juventus, but he has failed to impress anyone during his second year and has been subbed off twice by coach Maurizio Sarri.

With the twilight of the player's career seemingly approaching, one former Real Madrid boss took a swing at the Portuguese star, especially due to his reaction after being taken off by Sarri against Milan, where he headed straight into the team's locker room.

Former Real Madrid and Milan boss Fabio Capello was not satisfied by Ronaldo's behavior and urged him to show some manners even when things are not going his way.

"I didn't like this, it wasn't nice. He must be a champion even when he comes off the pitch," Capello told Sky Italia.

Furthermore, Capello looked deeper into the player's regular form, and criticized how he has lost some of his skills in recent years.

"The truth is that Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't dribble past an opponent for three years. I did the La Liga commentary when he usually took the double step and left you there," Capello added.

The former England tactician admitted that CR7 may have to settle with another role at Juventus, since he is not the deciding figure he once was at Real Madrid.

"They win games without Ronaldo. Juve seemed dependent on him, instead the great squad and the quality of the players helps them win anyway. Cristiano did it for a while, but now it's not him and he must recover, especially on a physical level. He does not have the speed and dynamism he has shown at other times," Capello stated.

The Italian boss then went on to praise his colleague, Maurizio Sarri, for his decision to bench CR7.

"Bravo Sarri, who had the courage to take him off, it takes personality, especially thinking that all the players in the squad can play and make a difference," Capello concluded.
