Premier League confirms hat-trick hero Tammy Abraham's new Chelsea record

Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham has officially become the club's youngest-ever player to score a hat-trick in the English top-tier football league, the Premier League has confirmed. The 20-year-old English striker turned Saturday's encounter against Wolves into a one-man show by leading his side's 5-2 onslaught at the Molineux.

Abraham, who had scored four goals for the Blues in his last two outings, was called into action three minutes after his fellow academy graduate Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring with a thunderous effort in the 31st minute. The former followed up with his second in the 41st minute before entering the record books with his third in the 55th minute.

As per the Premier League's historic archives, Abraham is now the youngest player in the history of Chelsea to bag a hat-trick at the age of 21 years and 347 days. He also became the youngest Englishman to achieve the feat in the competition since Manchester City's Raheem Sterling did so for his former club Liverpool against Bournemouth in 2015.

Having been responsible for Wolves' second consolation goal, the young Chelsea striker attained an interesting milestone of becoming the first player in the history of the Premiership to score a hat-trick and an own-goal in a single Premier League match.

At the moment, Tammy Abraham is tied with Sergio Aguero as the Premier League's topscorers with seven goals apiece. Chelsea's next test in the league will be an epic clash with current leaders Liverpool after next weekend after the mid-week's Champions League clash with Valencia.
