Reports claim that Real Madrid have seize the lead in signing the Bundesliga star, causing speculation about Gareth Bale's future in Spain.

Unless if one has been living in a cave somewhere, most football fans will be certainly aware of all the media buzz surrounding Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.

Once one of the top teams in Germany, Dortmund have struggled horribly this season and are currently just one spot away from being dead last in the table.

As a result, die Schwargelben star players have been linked with plying their trades elsewhere, with defender Mats Hummels being one who many feel will not likely be featuring with the 2013 Champions League finalists next season.

With just a 25 million price tag, Reus has been linked to a whole slew of clubs across Europe, including Premier League powerhouses Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool, and La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. And now fresh reports from Italy not surprisingly have linked Serie A titans Juventus with throwing their hat into the ring.

Could Real Madrid opt to move on mega-money signing Gareth Bale to free up space for Marco Reus?

However, growing rumors are that it's Real Madrid who have moved into pole position to sign him, with a five year,  €7 million per year contract being quoted by numerous publications.

Yet, should Reus come on board, some have questioned where exactly he would fit into a midfield area that is already stacked with talents like James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale, both of whom cost the capital club a pretty penny to bring in over the past few seasons.

Although Bale has contributed quite a bit to his club's success, apparently many fans would not be too sorry to see him sold for the right price. As such, the ex-Tottenham star has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Manchester United being the club that has been most associated with making a bid for him.

With Reus now battling back from yet another unfortunate injury setback, it does not look likely that he would leave this month. However, this summer certainly looks to be interesting if he does make the switch to La Liga as to where Bale could find himself playing his football for next season.
