The player himself stepped up to end all controversy. Added to that, he did this to alert his relatives about a possible infection.

Earlier today, reports came in from Barcelona about a player testing positive for COVID-19. While the footballer was reportedly not in touch with any of the players that will make the trip to Lisbon, his identity was not revealed by the club. Well, the player has taken matters into his own hands and has stepped up to reveal his identity.

Less than an hour after the official announcement, French defender Jean-Clair Todibo admitted via a couple of tweets that he was the player who tested positive for Coronavirus. The reasons behind his decision to go public are simple: to end all rumors and to prevent any of his close ones about his condition.

"Hi everyone, I want to let you know that I have tested positive for covid-19, I am asymptomatic and I'm ok. I'm home, following the proper sanitary protocols. I am looking forward to go back to the training grounds, but for now it's time to stay home until the virus is gone."

The player spent the second half of the season on loan at Schalke 04, but the German club decided not to execute the buyout clause included in the deal. Todibo returned to Catalunya to start the team's pre-season, but this new setback will prevent him from doing so.
