Transfer: Chelsea rejects Barcelona and Atletico Madrid bids for Willian

Premier League club Chelsea has rebuffed attempts from both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to sign Brazilian winger Willian. The two Spanish clubs are believed to have submitted offers of 30 million pounds to secure the service of the 30-year-old winger.

Willian joined the London club from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 and has since won a Europa League trophy and two Premier League titles. Despite his input in the past, the forward was handed limited playing opportunities with the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last season.

Last summer, Barca attempted to secure the service of the Brazilian but saw all efforts being rendered futile with Chelsea refusing to part ways with the player. After three unsuccessful bids, the Catalans ended the pursuit and made a late swoop to hijack AS Roma's move for Malcom.

The former Bordeaux star's arrival has not exactly yielded the result wanted by the Camp Nou outfit and, according to Sky Sports, the club is ready to test the waters once again to acquire Willian from Chelsea. Barcelona's league rivals Atletico Madrid have also joined the chase although both sides have had their initial bids thrown out of the window.

With Chelsea yet to know it's stance with a potential transfer ban in the pipeline, the club is expected to award Willian a new contract. The 30-year-old attacker's current deal runs out in the summer of 2020.
