Once again, Argentinean football makes headlines for all the wrong reasons.
A 22-year old fan called Emanuel Balbo died on Sunday after being harshly injured by Belgrano's supporters. According to the victim's father, Raúl, his son got into an argument with Oscar Gomez, a man that was charged with the murder of his other son, who died after Gomez ran him over years ago.
Emanuel confronted Gomez in the stands, and the latter got his friends to hit Balbo by yelling "get this guy out of here, he's a Talleres' supporter," according to witnesses.
Up to 20 supporters managed to hit Balbo while he searched for a way out of there, and nearly succeeded when he reached the railing. Nevertheless, crazed fans who are now being investigated for his murder pushed him off the stands, causing him to fall head-first into the stairs and ultimately being pronounced dead hours later.

After the game, Belgrano's official Twitter feed issued a statement, emphasizing on how the team will try to bring those involved in the death of Emmanuel to justice.
"Club Atlético Belgrano is deeply saddened by Emanuel Balbo's death. It's a sad day for the entire Celeste family, and as a team, we invite all those involved to think about the consequences of their actions. As an institution, we'll seek for all the means possible to secure that justice is served in this matter and most of all, for Emanuel," the team stated in a press release issued in their website.
The Clásico Cordobés is the third most ancient rivalry in Argentine football, and is considered one of the fiercest rivalries in South American football. The game ended in a one-all draw, but sadly, that's the most irrelevant thing to talk about right now.
