Another edition of a famous London Derby is coming up as familiar foes Arsenal and Chelsea prepare to do battle on Tuesday, April 23.

After being eliminated from the Champions League by Bayern Munich, Arsenal turn their attention back to domestic duties when they welcome Chelsea for a midweek tie. The Gunners are hoping to end their decades long wait to get their hands on the Premier League title, but are facing stern competition from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City as well as Liverpool. At the moment, Mikel Arteta's side are on top of the Premier League table but will know that any slip-ups - whether in this upcoming game or elsewhere - could see the title once again slip out of their hands.

Arsenal rebounded from their Champions League elimination by beating Wolves 2-0 in their most recent outing which also ended a three match winless streak across all competitions for the Gunners. That certainly will give them an injection of confidence when Chelsea arrive on Tuesday, especially as Arsenal are desperate to avoid losing back to back home Premier League games for the first time in two years.

Chelsea, for their part, come into this contest having lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup after spurning numerous opportunities to seize control in that match. As a result from that loss, Mauricio Pochettino's side will now not have any chances at winning any silverware this season. That being said, the Blues have managed to put together a solid run in the Premier League, where they are unbeaten in their last eight games.

Currently in ninth place ahead of Tuesday's match, Chelsea still do have quite a lot of work to do if they want to have a shot at competing in Europe next term. Of note is their poor record against Arsenal, which has seen them win just one of their last nine meetings across all competitions. And to make matters more tricky for the visiting side, who are already missing quite a few players due to injuries, youngster Cole Palmer, who has been one of the team's brightest stars, is likely to be out for this key match due to illness.

Team news: Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal: Jurrien Timber is the only definite absentee for Arsenal. Meanwhile, Takehiro Tomiyasu may be able to be involved in this game after missing his team's win over Wolves over the weekend.

Chelsea: The Blues still have a lot of players out injured, including Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Lesley Ugochukwu, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, and Romeo Lavia. In addition, Chelsea have been dealt a huge blow as Cole Palmer is likely to miss this match due to illness, as well as Robert Sanchez, while both Ben Chilwell and Malo Gusto will need to pass late fitness tests.
