As one side can start to pop the champagne after what has been a remarkable campaign this season, another team just may be able to celebrate this May if things go their way. Earlier this week, Juventus were crowned champions of Italy for a fifth straight time after Roma beat Napoli. It was the crowning achievement for the Bianconeri, especially considering that some had written them off after a poor start to this season.
Meanwhile, Carpi, who are in Serie A for the first time in their history are just a few games away from making sure they remain in the top flight for yet another season. Many had expected the Biancorossi to make a swift return to Serie B. However, like Sassuolo did a couple season before them, they are defying the odds and only need a few more points to avoid the drop and remain afloat.
Juventus
Massimiliano Allegri's men will be coming into this match having fought their way to a tough 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the last round. Should they keep Carpi quiet at home, it will be the 10th clean sheet for Juventus, which will surpass their already new club record of nine.
On paper at least, this looks like it will be a straightforward three points for the Bianconeri. However, in their first meeting, the Turin giants did not find it as easy against the debutants as they anticipated, and a comedy of embarrassing errors late in the game nearly saw them throw away all three points.
Many calcio fans will probably recall Allegri's epic meltdown on the sideline back in December and although Juve now have sealed the Serie A title, the players obviously will not want to see their manager's fury this time around. With some familiar faces still out due to injury - including key duo Giorgio Chiellini and Claudio Marchisio - the starting XI may not look too different from the one that featured in Florence last weekend, or Allegri could opt to mix things up with who starts up front in attack.
Carpi
As for the visitors, they presently find themselves in 17th place. Fabrizio Castori's side have picked up a respectable 35 points so far, including two wins in their past five matches. Whilst Carpi are naturally not expected to a win of Sunday's tie against Juventus, they will do their utmost best to frustrate La Vecchia Signora. And having lost their first meeting 3-2, the debutants will also be hoping to try to keep the score-line as low as possible, whilst trying to nick a goal or two of their own.
With just a few games remaining, and with Palermo breathing down their necks a point here and there will make the difference as to if Carpi will be able to narrowly escape the drop or if their adventure in Serie A will turn out to be a one season deal.
