When is the Copa del Rey final?

The 2015/16 Copa del Rey final takes place on 21 May 2016. Barcelona enter the competition as the defending champions. Their road to glory during the 2014/15 season saw them demolish Valladolid and Elche 12-0 and 9-0 on aggregate respectively. The Catalans then triumphed 4-2 on aggregate over Atletico Madrid, brushed Villarreal aside 6-2 over two legs and imposed themselves 3-1 against eventual runners-up Athletic Bilbao to claim their 27th Copa del Rey trophy in history, four more than Athletic and eight more than bitter rivals Real Madrid.

The winning team of the 2015/16 Spanish Cup will automatically qualify for the 2016-17 UEFA Europa League group stage.
