The midfielder gave Les Bleus the victory over a Portuguese side that was not as dangerous as expected with Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch.

France and Portugal delighted fans with a well played match between the two, despite the absence of goals for most of the game. A late free kick by Mathieu Valbuena was enough for Les Bleus to win the game, while Portuguese fans seem to wonder what they need to do for their next match.

After eighty five minutes, it seemed as if both sides were OK with the game's outcome, but Mathieu Valbuena had other plans. With a beautiful curl over the Portuguese wall, Valbuena netted the ball into the top right hand corner, starting off the celebration for Didier Deschamps' crew.
