The English club has set a £20m deal for the player from Barcelona. Pepe from Real Madrid is also on the radar on the Red Devils.

Barcelona's winger Pedro may not be property of Barcelona for too long. The Red Devils have launched a £20m deal for the 28-year-old player that has played all his life for the Catalan side.

Pedro has been part of three Champions League titles with Barcelona and was also part of Spain's World Cup champions team in 2010 when they played against Netherlands in South Africa. In 204 La Liga games with Barcelona, the Spanish international has scored 58 goals. He has played over 300 games with the Barca jersey since his debut in 2008.

Barcelona seems eager to let him go but for what they consider a reasonable prize. The team is still holding out for the £24m buy-out clause in his contract. The deal could be closed within the next 48 hours according to sources close to the negotiation.

There is also some speculation that Pepe from Real Madrid could be making his way to Manchester before La Liga starts. The Portuguese defender could be the answer to Van Gaal's wish of an experienced center half. The 32-year-old player seems to be LVG's plan B after Sergio Ramos has decided to stay in Madrid.
