Carlo Ancelotti still has some doubts about who will take Luka Modric's spot in Real Madrid's lineup. After the Croatian midfielder's injury, the Italian manager trusts whoever takes his place will perform his duties correctly.
"I'm still thinking about it. The natural option would be Khedira and the other one would be Isco. Both of them can cover that position for us, I think that the one that seems to be fittest will play. Modric's injury is a huge blow for us, but we have a competitive squad and we will try to make his absence go unnoticed," Ancelotti said.
About Sami Khedira's situation, who has been rumored to be leaving the club, Ancelotti clarified how things are going between the club and the German midfielder.
"He wants to stay here, he's told me so personally. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we solve this, but the team is trying to extend his contract. He is fully fit to play, he had a good game against Spain and I'm sure that if we need him, he'll be there for us," the coach added.
