Following the French attacker's injury, Arsene Wenger looks likely to bring in a replacement this summer.

With star striker Olivier Giroud facing a long period on the sidelines after suffering an injury, Arsene Wenger will have to seriously consider making an emergency move for a replacement before the transfer window closes.

The Gunners do have Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo within their ranks but certainly the duo are not yet ready to be the main options up front, especially if the squad want to be able to compete on multiple fronts this season.

Wenger has stated previously that his squad is well-covered in the attacking department, noting before Giroud's injury:

"We have [Yaya] Sanogo who will be an important asset...we have Lukas Podolski, [and] we have Joel Campbell who can play centre forward. [Moreover], we have Alexis [Sanchez] and [Theo] Walcott coming back."

However, French reports, namely L'Equipe,  claim that the Gunners boss is considering his striking options, with names like Edinson Cavani, Loic Remy, Radamel Falcao, and Danny Welbeck being among the names mentioned.

Meanwhile, reports from Italy claim that Torino's Alessio Cerci is also another player on the team's radar before the transfer window shuts in less than a week.
