After a seemingly endless search, Liverpool have finally found what they have been seeking all summer: a replacement for talismanic striker Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan's time with the Premier League side was full of controversy but he nonetheless played a huge role in helping them nearly clinch their first title in decades and make a return to the Champions League after a few years.
Hence, his sale to Barcelona was quite disconcerting to fans, who wondered whether Daniel Sturridge would be able to shoulder the burden of leading the team's attack. However, with the signing of Milan star Mario Balotelli, Rodgers now has another option--should he be able to control the mercurial Italian.
Despite this, reports from Italy hat Liverpool are still hoping to bring in another familiar face this summer--former Chelsea attacker Samuel Eto'o. The Cameroonian is currently a free agent after being released and has been seeking to continue plying his trade in Europe, and as per reports earlier this month, his Champions League experience--having won it with Barcelona and Inter--could come in handy.
Although other reports indicated that the Reds had some concerns about his ability to still compete, as he is now 33 years old, but now both sides have reached an understanding and are pushing for a deal to be sealed before the end of the summer.
This is especially after becoming frustrated so far in their pursuit of other targets such as Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao.
