Tempers boiled over between the star attacker and manager, with the pair clashing in front of cameras just as the Egyptian ace was about to be subbed on.

Tempers appear to be boiling over at Liverpool as two of their most important figures were involved in a heated touchline row amidst another major blow to their title aspirations.

Those men were manager Jurgen Klopp and star attacker Mohamed Salah, who started on the bench in the Merseyside giants' trip to the London Stadium.

The Reds entered this clash on the back of their Merseyside Derby defeat, having lost 2-0 at Goodison Park recently. As a result, Saturday's early showdown with the Hammers was a must-win game.

Unfortunately, Klopp's side suffered a third straight slip-up, throwing away a 2-1 lead to draw 2-2 and lose further ground in this season's title race with Arsenal and Manchester City. Andy Robertson and an Alphonse Areola own goal helped the visitors claw back from a goal down but Michail Antonio's 77th minute goal denied Liverpool the three points.

And to make things worse, Salah and Klopp were caught on camera in a heated exchange on the touchline just as the Egyptian ace was readying to come on. This incident occurred just before West Ham's late equalizer, with Jurgen whispering something into Salah's ear just as he was waiting for his number to go up.

It remains unclear what the German had said but it sparked an angry response from the attacker, who turned back and unleashed a mouthful at his manager. Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez, who were also preparing to come on, held the winger back and pulled him away from the gaffer before ultimately making their introduction into the game.

Klopp was expectedly asked about the incident during his post-match interview but the manager refused to reveal what happened between the pair. However, he stated that the two discussed the issue in the dressing room and have closed the book on that chapter.

"No [I won't share what was said]. But we spoke already in the dressing room, and for me, that's done," Klopp revealed.

Nonetheless, things are looking bleak for the English giants. The Reds have won only one of their last five league games and are all but out of the title race. Meanwhile, with speculation regarding Mohamed Salah's future gathering pace, fans will not have liked what they saw during the frustrating West Ham draw.
