The two London rivals will be involved in a curtain raiser as the Premier League returns after the international break

Following to pave way for the last set of international matches to be played before the World Cup, the Premier League resumes play on Saturday. A rather packed weekend with lots of action will begin at the Emirates Stadium with a north London rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham set to usher fans back in the mood following the hiatus.

With 18 points from seven games, the Gunners are in first place and will hope to temporarily establish a four-point gap with a win over their fiercest rivals. Before the break, Mikel Arteta's men marched into another London derby and came out on top by scoring three unanswered goals against Brentford. It was far from a real test for the Emirates outfit with William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Viera getting their respective names on the scoresheet.

Bar the disappointing 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the beginning of September, Arsenal have gone on an impressive 12-game winning streak across all competitions. Against Spurs, they will aim to build on the momentum and put together another top display with the other title contenders breathing down their necks.

However, the clash is expected to be anything but a walk in the park for Mikel Arteta and his brigade as the opponent they come up against has shown enough promise in the campaign thus far. After seven matches, Tottenham Hotspur sit in third position on the league table with 17 points, unbeaten with five wins and two draws to their name.

They enter the early kick-off game on the back of a massive 6-2 win against Leicester City. Heung-min Son will particularly eye a starting berth at the Emirates with his confidence at an all-time high after hitting a 14-minute hat-trick as a substitute against the Foxes.

With just a point separating the two London rivals, the upcoming encounter is certainly one to keep an eye on.
