The Portuguese forward has challenged his followers who are in coronavirus self-isolation with a series of activities.

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a new "stay home" challenge for his followers on social media. The 35-year-old Portuguese forward featured in the first of a series of exercises that will be completed by fans in the Living Room Cup challenge.

The initiative which debuted on Sunday, April 5, is sponsored by Nike. According to the sportswear manufacturing giants, the digital workout series will offer fans who are in self-isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic "a new space to compete against Nike pro athletes through weekly fitness challenges."

In the first challenge of the upcoming series, Cristiano Ronaldo completed an ab workout and shared it via his Instagram page. The former Real Madrid superstar then challenged his followers by giving them a week to beat his record of 142 core crusher reps in 45 seconds. Watch:

Participants are expected to share their results on their Instagram profiles using the hashtags #playinside and #thelivingroomcup. Meanwhile, other pro-Nike athletes will carry on from Cristiano Ronaldo and be involved in different challenges.
