Edinson Cavani's time at PSG is set to come to an end, but with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the player's time in Paris might be extended a bit longer. Even so, teams from around the world are desperate to sign the Uruguayan, and the latest claims from South American newspapers hint that PSG's all-time top scorer may be heading back to America after the end of the campaign.
According to Argentine newspaper Olé and Uruguayan media outlet Ovación, Cavani is set to begin negotiations with Boca Juniors, as a direct request from former Barcelona and Villarreal player Juan Román Riquelme. Riquelme's idea would see Cavani teaming up with former Manchester United ace Carlos Tévez to boost the team's chances of winning the 2020 Copa Libertadores...when it resumes.
Cavani is one of the most expensive players in the world that are set to end their current contract.
The Uruguayan striker was heavily linked to Atlético Madrid during the winter, but negotiations were not successful due to Les Parisiens' monetary demands. Now, with Cavani out of a contract, it seems that he will only think about satisfying his needs rather than living up to PSG's expectations, especially after not letting him leave the club last January.
Both newspapers have named PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes as a key asset to make this negotiation happen, as the former Boca player has become a good friend of Cavani's and could influence his decision. Be that as it may, only time will tell where Cavani wants to keep playing once the world of football goes back to normal...
