The Red Devils man dug up a previous tweet by the Belgian and used it to mock the striker.

Tuesday was not a great night for Inter Milan. The Italian giants hosted Barcelona on the final Matchday of this season’s Champions League group stage needing only to match Dortmund’s result against Slavia Praha to progress but unfortunately crashed out.

BVB overcame their opponents 2-1 but the same cannot be said for the Nerazzurri. Despite taking on a Messi-less Blaugrana, they still fell to a 2-1 defeat in front of the San Siro crowd thanks to goals from youngsters Perez and Fati.

Romelu Lukaku scored their goal but missed a few opportunities, with Conte’s side now being relegated to the Europa League. One former team-mate of his from his Man United days did not miss on the opportunity to troll the Belgian ace.

That man is Luke Shaw. The Englishman dug up an old tweet from Lukaku in which he celebrated joining a Champions League side in the form of Inter Milan, having left a Red Devils side competing in the Europa League.

However, after Tuesday’s home defeat against Barcelona, Romelu finds himself back in UEFA’s second-tier club competition and Shaw made sure to remind him of this. He tweeted “welcome back” with a winking emoji.

Despite returning to the Europa League and missing quite a few chances against Barcelona, the 26-year-old has done well for himself in Serie A, scoring 10 times in 15 appearances for the league leaders. He managed two in five matches in the Champions League but that campaign has now come to an end.
