Diego Simeone's plans of hiring a striker will need to be considered seriously following this latest setback.

Atlético Madrid will need to recruit more firepower for the rest of the 2019-20 season, as one of their finest players will not be around for the rest of 2019 due to a hernia.

Apparently, Diego Costa will not be around for quite a while, since the footballer may need surgery to correct the problem. If he ends up entering the operating room, he could be out for up to three months, according to a press release issued by the club.

The main problem for Costa is that his absence will see him miss UEFA Champions League games, the 2020 Spanish Super Cup, league games and even Copa del Rey clashes. With that in mind, it seems that Atlético Madrid will have to break the bank to sign a potential replacement.

Costa has played 15 games for Atlético this season, scoring two goals and handing out two assists. Judging by the medical procedure he could undergo, Costa's fitness issues may represent quite a problem for Los Colchoneros, who are having a hard time to find the back of the net.
