Preview: Inter vs Dortmund
Despite their solid form in Serie A that sees them in second place, just one point behind Juventus, the same can't be said about Inter so far in their Champions League campaign. The Nerazzurri have struggled in a very tough quartet alongside the likes of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, and find themselves sitting near the bottom having failed to win their last two games. And that bad record stretches back even further, with the Nerazzurri failing to win their last six matches in this competition overall.
Inter come into this game having earned a well-deserved 4-3 win over Sassuolo, but it was a lot nervier than Antonio Conte's men would have wanted. Sassuolo, true to form, refused to go away without a fight, and the fact that Inter ended up conceding three goals in that contest for the first time in Serie A all season certainly did not leave Conte impressed one bit. That match was the team's first after losing 2-1 to Juventus in the Derby d'Italia, meaning that in only two games, Inter have shipped five goals. Prior to that, they had conceded just two in six.
After losing to Barcelona, Inter's draw with minnows Slavia Praha will be even more frustrating as that is one team that certainly Conte was looking to pick up an easy three points against. Now they will have it all to do against a Dortmund side who have been quite solid so far in their Champions League campaign.
Dortmund, meanwhile, ended their frustrating winless run in the Bundesliga with a hard-fought victory against surprise league leaders Borussia Moenchengladbach to help lift themselves into the top four. They're top of this tricky quartet thanks to having picked up four points. Although they have not really set the pitch alight, they have yet to concede a goal and that includes holding Barcelona to a scoreless stalemate.
