Juventus outcast edges closer to Manchester United switch

Manchester United can start preparing to call Mario Mandzukic one of their own, as Juventus' boss Maurizio Sarri has all but confirmed that the footballer is set to leave the club during the upcoming transfer window.

Speaking in his pre-match presser against Bologna, the Italian boss admitted that the Croatian striker is no longer taking part of the team's training sessions, since no one wants the footballer to pick an injury when everything is in place to see him leave in January.

"Mandzukic is not training with us, in agreement with the club. If the agreement changes, I am open to everything," Sarri said.

The coach's words come after sporting director Fabio Paratici admitted that Mandzukic will be let go this winter, especially after a move to Qatar was dismissed by the footballer last summer.

"With Mandzukic, we chose a quiet time for him to leave, but a move to Qatar did not materialize, so he stayed with us," Paratici said.

Juve's main man admitted that the team's stance regarding the Croatian striker has to do with a sense of gratitude towarda him.

"He has been an added value in recent years, we must thank him. If he considers it appropriate to leave, we will satisfy him, otherwise he will consider other solutions," Paratici added.

Mandzukic has not played a single minute under Sarri this season, since his deal to a Qatari club was set to take place this summer. Once the move fell apart, the former Bayern München ace has been kept on the sidelines, with reports about a $5.6M deal with Manchester United already flying in.
