The Portuguese superstar does not agree with the amount of money being paid nowadays for top-notch players.

Years ago, Cristiano Ronaldo was the most expensive footballer of all time. That didn't last long, as Gareth Bale, Paul Pogba and finally Neymar established milestones in that department. According to the Portuguese ace, to watch a team paying a handsome amount of money for a player is overrated, since players are somewhat overrated.

Speaking in an interview with Portuguese TV network TV1, CR7 shared his views on the current football transfer market, and while he admitted that the game has evolved into an industry, the bianconeri ace feels that paying a massive amount of money should speak volumes about the player's quality, which is not the case right now.

"Nowadays, any player can be worth over $100M. Some of them have not done anything to earn that price tag," Cristiano Ronaldo said.

Since football is an industry right now, CR7 respectfully shared his views on how teams are currently paying more money for players that are not worth such a massive amount of money.

"There's more money in football nowadays. A center back or a goalkeeper can be worth over $80M. I disagree with that, but this is the world of football we're living in and we have to respect that," the player added.

CR7 named one colleague -and compatriot- that is really worth that amount of money, even if he is really young.

"Joao Felix's case is different, we have to leave that one on the side," the Portuguese footballer concluded.
