The Red Devils have made huge strides in finding a successor for the wantaway Paul Pogba.

Manchester United is reportedly on the verge of completing a deal with Lazio for the transfer of Serge Milinkovic-Savic. The Red Devils are believed to have made significant breakthrough in negotiations for the Serbian midfielder with Real Madrid intensifying its pursuit of Paul Pogba.

Last week, Zinedine Zidane hinted at the Bernabeu outfit having a plan in place to land the signature of the wantaway Frenchman despite his side refusing to sanction his sale. In an interview with reporters, the 47-year-old ex-Galactico stressed on the possibility of new players joining his side before the transfer window shuts close.

Per the reliable AS, Real Madrid chiefs are ready to back Zidane's claim by following up with a formal offer for Pogba. Los Blancos are reportedly set to pay the 20-time English champions a whooping 150 million pounds to sign the former Juventus star. Nevertheless, they would have to part ways with Gareth Bale first with the Welshman reportedly on his way to the Chinese Super League.

In wake of the development, Manchester United has seemingly put measures in place to deal with the impending departure of the World Cup by making a swoop for Lazio's Milinkovic-Savic. According to Italian publication La Repubblica, the 24-year-old midfielder will sign a five-year deal with the Premier League outfit after a fee of 75 million euros pluses add-ons was accepted by I Biancocelesti.

The report also indicates that the Serie A club has already lined up Trabzonspor star Yusuf Yazici as the player's potential replacement.
