Fans left unhappy as former Chelsea boss is tipped as Sarri's successor

Many names have been linked with the Chelsea managerial position amid speculation of Maurizio Sarri's inevitable exit. While the likes of Lampard and Allegri had many excited, the fans are now unhappy with the latest man being tipped to replace the Italian.

That coach is none other than Rafael Benitez, the Spaniard who managed the Blues from November 2012 until May 2013. The Spaniard took over the London giant in an interim role and guided them to the Europa League title many supporters are unhappy with the idea of seeing the 59-year-old back at Stamford Bridge.

Rafa is currently in charge of Newcastle but his future at St. James' Park is under doubt due to the Magpies takeover bid. Lampard might still be the odds-on favorite to succeed Sarri, but the mention of Benitez's name was enough to send a few supporters into meltdown.

While a few sources have refuted this claim, Italian publication Tuttosport states (as per Football Italia) that a second spell at Chelsea is imminent and that the club will hold a meeting with the Newcastle boss. Some have vowed to give up their season ticket should the Premier League outfit appoint the former Valencia, Liverpool, Napoli, and Real Madrid tactician.

A few outlets have downplayed this rumor

However, this did not prevent a meltdown from happening

Despite this report, a lot remains uncertain. Everything hinges on Sarri leaving the English capital for Juventus and while that appears to be a matter of when and not if, there remains no word of confirmation surrounding the Italian's departure.
