The French manager and the Welsh winger's relationship is on an all-time low.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has seemingly confirmed Gareth Bale's imminent departure following Sunday's loss to Eibar. The 29-year-old Welsh forward was an unused substitute as Los Blancos' slumped to a 2-0 defeat in its final game of the season.

For many, the match could have presented Bale the opportunity to bid the Bernabeu fans farewell with his departure this summer looking likelier than ever. Having secured a big-money move to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, the winger has been instrumental in his side's success in the last six years despite a series of injuries plaguing his spell.

All in all, Los Blancos' No. 11 has won 13 trophies, and has made 231 appearances with 102 goals and 64 assists to show for. Nevertheless, a poor run of form has seen the Bale sidelined for a number of matches since the second-coming of Zinedine Zidane.

Following the defeat to Eibar, the French manager stated that Welsh attacker was not in his plans for the day's encounter.

"It is true, I did not [give Bale a chance to say goodbye]," Zidane said, as per ESPN.

"If I had another substitute to make, I would not have done anything different.

"But I have to look at the day-to-day, and make decisions. And when there is something I do not like, or does not fit for me, I must do what I think best. It might be difficult for the player.

"We cannot forget all he has done here, but I must live in the present, think of the future. We will see [if Bale continues]. I don't know what will happen, truthfully."

Meanwhile, Gareth Bale headed straight for the tunnel after the final whistle in Sunday's clash with Eibar. Prior to the kick-off of the match, the 29-year-old reportedly told some of his teammates in the locker room that he is willing to stay at Real Madrid's if he does not receive an offer with a wage package similar to what he has now.

"I have 3 years left on my contract, if they want me to leave they need to pay 17 million net per season," he was quoted to have said per Radio Estadio.

"If not I'm staying here, and if I have to play golf, I will play."
