The Serie A outfit has reportedly stated how much it will cost the Red Devils to sign the Senegalese defender.

Manchester United will be required to break the world-record transfer fee for a defender in order to sign Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly. The Red Devils have reportedly been quoted an amount of 150 million pounds by the Senegalese defender's club.

Koulibaly joined Napoli from Genk in 2014 for a fee of 6.5 million pounds and has since established himself as one of the best center backs in the world. The 26-year-old has, as a result, drawn interest from a host of top European clubs with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona all said to be huge admirers of his abilities.

Despite the interest from the Spanish pair, Manchester United is believed to be leading the pack for the player's signature. Earlier speculations suggested that the Premier League outfit tested Napoli's resolve to sign the defender in January but saw all attempts blocked by Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Nonetheless, a breakthrough may just be around the corner for the Red Devils who are yet to appoint a new manager but have enjoyed great success under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following Jose Mourinho's sack.

UK news outlet Daily Express has reported that Napoli will be willing to discuss Koulibaly's departure should the 150 million pounds price tag slapped on him be matched by any club. The transfer will, as a result, make the Senegalese the third-most expensive player in football history.

On the subject of summer recruitments for Manchester United, a new report indicates that the club is keeping tabs on wantaway Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 18-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich in January but had his transfer request to join the Bavarians turned down on multiple occasions by the Blues.

Odoi was handed his international debut by England manager Gareth Southgate in the 5-0 thrashing of Czech Republic on Friday and, according to the Daily Mail, United may consider swooping in for his signature in the near future. The teenager's compatriot Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund is also reportedly on the radar of the Old Trafford outfit.
