Italian coach Antonio Conte seems determined to have Romelu Lukaku around next season, which has prompted a new bid by Inter Milan for the player's services.
The nerazzurri are one of the most active teams in the current summer transfer window, having added Diego Godín and Valentino Lazaro. Despite Manchester United's initial response to Lukaku's transfer, Inter Milan execs are ready to push the deal through by submitting an improved bid for the player's services, which would see Lukaku joining the Italian club for over $75M, with $50M as a downpayment.
The rest of the money would see Inter paying the remaining $25M in stallments, so the club can keep up with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules, according to a report by the Daily Mail.
The deal could see Inter paying even more than initially expected if the footballer reaches some pre-established criteria, such as goals, games played, etc.
Lukaku, currently in Australia for Manchester United's pre-season tour, was left out of the match that concluded in a 4-0 win for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men against Leeds United. The Norwegian boss seems to be interested in offloading Lukaku, so the club can pursue other transfer targets.
The summer transfer window for Premier League clubs shuts down on August 8, which means that the Red Devils need to make up their minds on this matter to find a suitable replacement for the footballer...if he ends up leaving.
Lukaku has scored 42 goals for Manchester United in all comps, but he failed to step up to the hype generated by his first season as a Red Devil, scoring only 15 goals in his sophomore season with the club and experiencing a massive golscoring drought at some point of the 2018-19 season.
Even so, Belgium's all-time top scorer is still considered a major threat up front, which may prompt Inter to make this deal happen as soon as possible.
