The Ajax defender has reacted to the recent transfer rumors.

Netherlands and Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has responded to speculations suggesting that he is set to reject a transfer to Barcelona in favor of a move to Manchester United. The 19-year-old has revealed that he has not made a decision on his future amid recent claims of an imminent transfer.

De Ligt remains one of the most-sought after prospects in this summer's transfer window and the young Ajax skipper has been tipped to complete a switch to Barcelona in the coming weeks. However, reports that emerged from Spain on Saturday indicated a twist in the tale with Manchester United now said to be favorites to sign the player after outbidding Los Blaugrana.

Contrary to the claim, the English media has reported that the Red Devils are not in the market for De Ligt despite expressing interest in the past. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side is desperate to sign a centre back this summer and is said to be particularly keen on bringing Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly to Old Trafford.

Currently on international duty with Netherlands ahead of the UEFA Nations League semi-final clash with England, De Ligt has spoken about his future.

"Where do I see myself? Well, obviously, the Premier League is a big competition, Spain also," he told ESPN. "But you have other competitions, it's not just about those two.

"I still don't know anything about where my future is, so I see how it goes. First we have to play two games and then after that I will see what happens next."
