The Spanish giants are aiming to break the bank to secure the service of the forward.

Real Madrid is reportedly plotting a €280 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe. The French starlet has been identified as Zinedine Zidane's priority signing for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Blancos head coach returned to the dugout for a second managerial stint after replacing Santiago Solari last month and is supposedly plotting a massive squad overhaul in June. While a few names are expected to depart, the French manager aims to strengthen his squad for the 2019/2020 season and the likes of Eden Hazard, Neymar Jr, and Kylian Mbappe have all been linked with a switch to the Bernabeu.

According to France Football magazine, negotiations to sign the latter are likely to start next week and the move is expected to 'dominate sports headlines over the next and even through the summer months'.

Back in 2017, Mbappe was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid after leading AS Monaco to the Champions League semi-final. However, a few months later the 20-year-old winger opted for a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain to join up with ex-Barcelona star Neymar Jr.

The astronomical fee spent on the signing of the pair by PSG resulted in a Financial Fair Play probing by UEFA. While the case remains open, the Ligue 1 outfit is expected to offload some players in order to balance its books.

The amount to be met is said to in the region of 150 million euros and, as per Spanish publication AS the Parisians are expected to exceed the quota with the probable sale of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
