The Brazilian footballer has been deemed as a flop by Barcelona fans due to his disappointing form in the current season.

What started out as a rumor has been confirmed by a source consulted by Spanish newspaper Marca. Philippe Coutinho will end his tenure at Barcelona due to his poor performance during the 2018-19 season.

According to the source consulted by Marca, the player was brought in to replace Andrés Iniesta, but he has failed to adapt to Ernesto Valverde's tactics, meaning that his days with the Blaugrana side are numbered.

Even if Barcelona execs have decided to let the player leave, selling him will not be easy. Coutinho became the team's most expensive transfer of all time, and according to Marca, they will not let him go for less than $100M. Added to that, the team interested in his services will have to come up with a hefty paycheck to twist Coutinho's arm. To make matters worse, the player seems determined to stay at Camp Nou, but his last outings can't back up his desire to stay.

In an effort to force this transfer, Barcelona execs have reportedly gotten in touch with Manchester United execs, a team that has been linked to the player's future in the past few weeks. Other options would include Arsenal and, surprisingly, PSG, which seems like the best option for the footballer's inner circle.

According to the report, the possibility of teaming up with Neymar would seduce Coutinho enough to put an end to his stint at Camp Nou, but given the complicated relationship between Les Parisiens and Los Blaugranas, it would take a top-caliber negotiator to see the Brazilian ace landing at Parc Des Princes next seaosn.
