Borussia Dortmund vs Man City preview

Champions League football returns on Wednesday night at the Westfalenstadion satium in an all to play for quarter-final match-up between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City. The first leg in England saw a dramatic late Phil Foden goal steal the show and give Pep Guardiola's men the edge going into the second leg. The result was not so gloomy for Dortmund as they got an all-important away goal to fall when they welcome the Premier League club.

Ahead of Wednesday's meeting, both teams boast an impressive record in the Champions League. Although Dortmund has won just two of their last seven games across all competitions, the black and yellow are on an impressive eight-game unbeaten run at home in the champions league.

However, Die BVB's charges will need to step up their efforts considering that their leading marksman Erling Haaland has gone six games without a goal. Prior to that, the Norwegian wonderkid had scored 33 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions. Safe for him though as he is yet to draw a blank at home in the champions league this season.

The Citizens are currently placed first in the Premier League and are in great standing to secure the League Cup and the FA Cup. On Wednesday, they will approach the European cup game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Leeds United during the weekend.
