Bruno Lage's men are now level with Porto in their battle to win the title, but they should have claimed two more points against the green and yellow side.

Benfica seemed to have everything in their favor to claim the top spot in the Primeira Liga, especially after Porto's woeful 2-1 loss against Famaliçao. Even so, the Eagles were unable to score against Tondela and were left level with their bitter rivals in their chase for a new title.

Today, Benfica missed a massive opportunity to reach 62 points against a rival that is battling to avoid relegation, especially after dominating possesion by controlling the ball 64% of the time. But the absolutely whopping stats emerge when you look at the shots taken by Bruno Lage's men, since they attempted 26 shots.

Unfortunately for them, only four of those were headed towards Claudio Ramos' men, who pulled off four key saves. Dyego Sousa was the player with the most shots attempted, with four, including one that hit the post.

Benfica will have to step things up in their pursuit of the title, especially since the tiebreaker between them and Porto would go to the Dragons after pulling a double over the Eagles.
