With Dembele out for the season, the Blaugrana will reportedly sign one striker 24 hours after being granted permission.

Barcelona have received a huge boost in their bid to cope with the injury blow to Ousmane Dembele. The reigning champions of Spain have been given authorization to sign an emergency replacement after losing the Frenchman for the rest of the season.

A stipulation in RFEF rules grants clubs the opportunity to sign a stand-in replacement should they lose a player for six or more months. This was the case with Dembele, who suffered a relapse in injury, picking up a hamstring tear that required surgery.

There had been speculation that the Blaugrana did not meet the conditions to make this request but they have now officially been authorized to sign a replacement. According to Forbes, the Catalan giants will land their target 24 hours after being given the green light.

That man is none other than Angel Rodriguez of Getafe. This will come as little surprise as the Spanish forward has been heavily linked with a Camp Nou move to offer Quique Setien numbers in attack.

The 32-year-old even scored against Barcelona when they hosted Getafe over the weekend, netting a 66-minute stunner past Ter Stegen – he did not celebrate the goal, which was seen as confirmation he would be joining Messi and Co. Angel would only be permitted to play in the league and not in Europe but this would mean Setien can offer rest to his three only available attackers.
