Juventus will aim to add to their recent impressive run when they welcome Roma to the Allianz Stadium on Sunday.

Preview

Juvetus will take on AS Roma is their first game of the Serie A campaign following the return of club football after the international break. The Bianconeri are eager to get forge ahead and potentially get into the mix to compete for the title again after their poor start to the season. The objective remains feasible as prior to the hiatus, they had successully secured three wins in their last three outings in the competitions. A fourth win is now within their grasp, a feat they last achieved in July 2020.

After going on a four-game winless streak against Udinese, Empoli, Napoli and AC Milan, Maxi Allegri's men now look like a side to reckon with as they have since bounced back with wins over Spezia, Sampdoria and Torino. In-between, they have also managed a 3-0 over Malmo as well as a 1-0 victory at the expense of Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League. The fact that they average at least two goals per game in their last six outings also need telling, although some work need to be done in the defense department as they have conceded five goals within the period.

Against Roma, Juventus will particularly fancy the odds as they have only lost once in their last 10 meetings with the Giallorossi. The test, however, will not be a stroll in the park as the host have somewhat found their mojo with Jose Mourinho taking over the reins at the club. The Stadio Olimpico outfit has had a commendable start that has seen they picking up 15 points from seven outings thus far.

They will approach the upcoming clash with Juventus on the back of a 2-0 win over Empoli before the international break. In the grand scheme of things, they have managed to secore 16 goals in the seven games played so far and have equally been decent defensively by ranking as the side with the third least number of goals conceded among the top five clubs on the Serie A table.  Against this backdrop, shutting out the attacking threat of the Bianconeri should be achievable for a typical Mourinho set-up while they count on the front men to do justice for them in the goalscoring department.
